Feast of Trumpets
Leviticus 23:23 Intro:
These seven feasts are God’s feasts
They are the blueprint for the future
Not Jewish feasts - they are the feasts of the Lord
The message and the Ministry of these feasts is for every generation
Mohed - a set time or appointed time
Michra - a rehearsal or recital
An elaborate rehearsal of something that will happen in the future in a set time
We have looked at
The feast of Passover
Saved by blood, the man's responsibility to the family
Redemption is by blood alone
This rehearsal was fulfilled at the cross
Unleavened bread,
Jesus said beware of all the leaven of the Pharisees
Getting the hot air out of your life, the pride
The feast of pins and needles
First fruits
Bringing the first of your harvest to the Lord
You do not bring the Firstfruits, God will not give you harvest
God does not accept second place
Give God your very best, and make him first
Pentecost
Where the 120 received the Holy Spirit
The gift Jesus promised and gave to all believers
The gift of power and the gift of teaching us His Word
Today we look at the Feast of Trumpets
Everything in the feast of trumpets is about something new
The feast of Rosh Hashanah (Yamim Noraim ("Days of Awe"))
The trumpet used in the feast is the shofar - the ram's horn
Two types of trumpets referred to in the Bible
The silver trumpet and the shofar
All that we refer to in the feast of trumpets is the shofar
The shofar was used to introduce every one of the feasts
Used to introduce the Sabbath day
Used to call troops to battle
1 Cor 14:7-8 And even things without life giving sound, whether pipe or harp, except they give a distinction in the sounds, how shall it be known what is piped or harped? For if the trumpet give an uncertain sound, who shall prepare himself to the battle?
Trumpeters blew a distinct sound so people knew they were under attack
Uncertain sound would cause confusion amongst the people
A message here for today to preach a distinct, clear message
A message of the Gospel, and put their philosophy away
It was used to announce the year of Jubilee
The year when all debts were forgiven and erased
Christians need to blow the sound and announce their Jubilee
We are free from the power of sin and Satan
We are free to serve God and all that he has told us to do
To serve God in the beauty of His holiness
The shofar is used to assemble the people
Used for the coronation of King's
Ps 89:15a Blessed is the people that know the joyful sound:
the joyful sound is the blast of the trumpet of the shofar
Ps 98:6 With trumpets and the sound of a horn; Shout joyfully before the Lord, the King.
Blow the horn and shout joyfully before the King the Lord of hosts
NOW blow the horn and let the people shout

1. The Feast of Trumpets is the beginning of the new year in the Bible
Is two days in length
The first and second days of the Hebrew month of Tishrei
Last week of September first week of October
Rabidical scholars teach that God created Adam at the feast of trumpets
The celebration of the New Year
Is the celebration of the new world - the creation
Message of Rosh Hashanah is - our God is always doing a new thing
In the N.T. when we are saved we become a new creature
2 Cor 5:17 Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.
Blow the shofar and shout for joy - you have been liberated
Your Jubilee has come - you are free from the past
You have become heirs and joint heirs with Jesus Christ
Eternity with Him is waiting for you
If we had nothing else to hope for this would be enough
You have a mansion waiting for you - Angels would go before you
You have been given the dividends of heaven
He has said he will give you vineyards you have not planted, houses you have not built, and Wells you have not dug
He said I will do a new thing for you - give God praise
2. in Revelation it says when you are saved you receive a new name written down in glory
Your eternal home is a place called the New Jerusalem
Every 24 hours there's a new day
Every 30 days there's a new moon
Every 360 days there's a new year
Ps 40:3a And he hath put a new song in my mouth, even praise unto our God:
Isa 43:19-20 Behold, I will do a new thing; now it shall spring forth; shall ye not know it? I will even make a way in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert. 20 The beast of the field shall honour me, the dragons and the owls: because I give waters in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert, to give drink to my people, my chosen.
Notice the rivers in the desert
God shows up in the darkest hours (feast of Pentecost)
Notice that God does not send anyone he shows up himself
In Matthew he has a new covenant that he is made to the Gentiles
They were cut off from the promises of Israel
But now he is made a new covenant and we are grafted in
Mark 16:17 they shall speak with new tongues
John 13:34 A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another.
The thing that should distinguish the church today is that we love one another
Take care of one another
Defend each other
Bear each other burdens
Rev 21:5 And he that sat upon the throne said, Behold, I make all things new. And he said unto me, Write: for these words are true and faithful.
God signs off the way he signed in
Genesis in the beginning God created the heavens and the earth
In the end he makes a new heaven and a new earth
The new heavens and the new earth will be just like the ones he created
God is a God of the past, the present, and the future
God is ready, willing and able to do a new thing for you and I
3. The Feast of Trumpets is referred to in the Tora (the written word of God) as “the day of the awakening blast”
The awakening blast is the sound of the shofar
The Hebrew word for awakening blast is “tiruah” which also means shout
Rabbis teach the awakening blast is
The first three blasts
Then nine very short blasts (notice 12 in number)
then there is the awakening blast was a long very loud blast
that's the blast when the supernatural occurs
1 Thess 4:16-17 For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: 17 Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.
The shout is the sound of the shofar
The trump of God is the awakening blast
And the dead in Christ shall rise with the awakening blast
Then those who are alive in Christ shall rise to meet him in the air
Eph 5:14 Wherefore he saith, Awake thou that sleepest, and arise from the dead, and Christ shall give thee light
Isa 26:19 Thy dead men shall live, together with my dead body shall they arise. Awake and sing, ye that dwell in dust: for thy dew is as the dew of herbs, and the earth shall cast out the dead.
The dead shall rise and give shouts of glory to the Lord
We need to praise him today for what he will do tomorrow
There are three trumpets in Scripture (review from last week)
1. The first Trump was blown at Mount Sinai
2. The last Trump is at the rapture
1 Cor 15:52 In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.
Some teach we will go to the tribulation
Look at this verse it is very clear the bride of Christ will be gone
3. The great Trump is at the entrance of the millennium rain
Matt 24:29-31 Immediately after the tribulation of those days shall the sun be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken: 30 And then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven: and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory. 31 And he shall send his angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other.
Don't confuse the rapture with the second coming
The rapture Jesus comes in the clouds to only take his bride
This does not include all of the church it only includes the bride
A false teaching today is that Jesus is coming for the Church
People get a sense of security because they attend church
At the second coming he sets his foot on the Mount of Olives
The Mount splits open, Jesus destroys all evil, sets up his throne
Why are the first 2 trumpets called the first Trump at the last trumpet
Genesis 22 we of the beautiful story of Abraham climbing a mountain with his son Isaac
It is the mountain where 2000 years later Jesus was crucified
After Abraham climbed the mountain the ram was stuck in the thicket
The ram was the substitute sacrifice, Jesus was your substitute
If you do not accept Jesus as Savior, then you must die
Gen 22:13 And Abraham lifted up his eyes, and looked, and behold behind him a ram caught in a thicket by his horns: and Abraham went and took the ram, and offered him up for a burnt offering in the stead of his son.
Hebrew word achus meaning afterward or in the future
He looked behind to see it BUT was looking into the future
The Hebrew language is clear he saw into the future Jesus being sacrificed on Calvary
This is confirmed in John 8:56 Your father Abraham rejoiced to see my day: and he saw it, and was glad.
God allowed him to see it through the eyes of Jehovah Jirah (the God who sees the future)
We always been taught this means God will provide
Literally meaning God will see to it
God is the God who will do something about it
God will provide because he sees the future
Jesus taught the people that Abraham saw the crucifixion
The ram was caught in the thicket by his horns
The left horn was the first Trump, the right horn was the last Trump
Abraham climbing a mountain in faith
Isaac asked where is the sacrifice?
Abraham said God will provide, knowing that God saw the future
As Abraham raised the knife, he still believed God can see
One last time he may have cried Jehovah Jirah
And the Angel grabbed his hand, and showed him the sacrifice
How many of us today cry out Jehovah Jirah
Are you going through a dark trial today -God can see
Dreams been crushed by Satan's demonic powers -God can see
Your marriage or family in turmoil -God can see
Is the church not where you want it to be - God can see
Is your business under attack - God can see
Has your doctor given you no hope - God can see
Are you climbing the mountain - at the top the ram is tied up!
4. The Feast of Trumpets also represents the wedding of Christ and his bride
The Bible that we should read each day is the Katuba
The written covenant God has given you when I
God opens the Bible with the marriage between Adam and Eve
It was a rehearsal of Christ marriage to his bride
Adam was made in the likeness of Christ
Jesus is called the last Adam
1 Cor 15:45 And so it is written, The first man Adam was made a living soul; the last Adam was made a quickening spirit.
In Genesis 2 Adam went into a deep sleep and woke up married
Sleep is synonymous with death in the Bible (1st Cor. 15:51-54)
God took a rib from Adam's side - representing shedding of blood
He then created eve from the rib
Christ was wounded in his side on the cross after his death
Then took his bones in his blood he created his bride
Eph 5:30 For we are members of his body, of his flesh, and of his bones
At the death of Christ his true bride was now created
If all we will do is repent, and accept Jesus Christ
We are now the church triumphant, with Jesus Christ is our head
5. The Feast of Trumpets is a rehearsal of the rapture of the bride of Jesus Christ
It is a grand rehearsal of this future event called the rapture
1 Thess 4:16 For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:
He will give it within awakening blast
Acts 1:11 Which also said, Ye men of Galilee, why stand ye gazing up into heaven? this same Jesus, which is taken up from you into heaven, shall so come in like manner as ye have seen him go into heaven.
Jesus will appear physically in all his glory to take his bride out of this Earth
To take us out from the seven years of God's wrath
Trump of God shall sound, the shofar shall blow
The dead shall rise, then those who remain shall go after
And the bride will go to the marriage supper of the lamb
We are being mentally prepared these days for this great event
We see people missing every day on the news
More and more we are hearing about alien abductions
CNN will explain what is happened
Eyewitness news will have their twist on the event
Sadly enough churches will be packed with people wondering what is happened
People who thought they were Christians will not admit to what is happened
Some who know what's happened will be called lunatics, even by the church
Many will not admit to this event, but it doesn't change the fact
No more sorrow, disease, suffering, anguish, troubles, fears
We will be with the King of Kings and Lord of Lords forever and forever so how will we know the real Christ when he comes
Anyone can wear a white robe, call himself Christ, put scars in his hand anyone could stand on the Mount of Olives saying I am the Christ
In the tribulation the false prophet will call fire from heaven, even make a stone statue speak
if all it takes is a miracle to deceive you the antichrist will deceive you
Matt 24:23-24 Then if any man shall say unto you, Lo, here is Christ, or there; believe it not. For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect.
If all you're looking for is signs you will have them
Don’t believe it - say it again don't believe it
As the days draw closer, don’t believe all you see
We are not looking for signs we are listening for sounds
To many today are looking for signs and will be greatly deceived
How will we be able to tell Jesus Christ from all the rest
God has installed a failsafe system
God knows that everything he has done Satan has tried to imitate
Moses and Pharaohs prophets and the serpants
But Moses serpent ate their servants
Revelation 6 Antichrist rides out on a Whitehorse
Why? Because Christ comes out on a white horse in revelation 19
The anti-Christ is shot in the head and then recovers
Why? Because he imitates the death and resurrection of Jesus
The rapture is the celebration of the victory over death, hell and the grave
That’s why the devil hates the teaching of the rapture
How will I know when the rapture gets here
By the shout of the archangel
By the trump of God with the awakening blast
When my body sails through the air to meet Jesus
Again it's not by what you see, it's by what you hear
The Bible is literal from cover to cover - and Jesus will literally come
Everything HAS literally happened and everything WILL literally happen
The word rapture does not appear in the Bible - but the picture is clear
Homosexuality does not appear in the Bible but the pictures clear
Luke 21:36 Watch ye therefore, and pray always, that ye may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man.
Heb 2:3 How shall we escape, if we neglect so great salvation;
If we neglect the cross, we shall never escape the hell that awaits us
What do we have to tell us the time is near
2 Peter 3:3-4 Knowing this first, that there shall come in the last days scoffers, walking after their own lusts, 4 And saying, Where is the promise of his coming? for since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of the creation.
When people don't believe in His coming He will suddenly appear
People already doubt the story of creation - even the church
Times are ready for the appearing of the Son of Man
Get Ready - Get Ready - Get Ready
The King is Coming
The Trumpet, the awakening blast, is about to happen
We will be gone to be with the Lord forever
