Biblical Demons

Do you believe a born again christian can be oppressed or controlled by a demonic spirit?

You can be. An example would be Peter. He tells Jesus that He should not do it. Jesus told him “get behind me Satan”.

Mark8:33
33 But when he had turned about and looked on his disciples, he rebuked Peter, saying, Get thee behind me, Satan: for thou savourest not the things that be of God, but the things that be of men.

Demons and Satan himself are not afraid of you. Never have. They are only afraid of one thing. Jesus Christ. Aside from that, he fears nothing.

The world today doesn't want to hear about Satan. They are afraid of talking about sin or deception or lack of self control.

Demonic spirits will enter churches and sit with people. The devil is not afraid of your church. He will seek to kill and destroy any man.

Our Country, the schools, the church itself is being attacked by demonic spirits all the time. There's things in coming times that will destroy our world as we know it.

Focus Verses: Luke 8:26-36
26 And they arrived at the country of the Gadarenes, which is over against Galilee. 27 And when he went forth to land, there met him out of the city a certain man, which had devils long time, and ware no clothes, neither abode in any house, but in the tombs. 28 When he saw Jesus, he cried out, and fell down before him, and with a loud voice said, What have I to do with thee, Jesus, thou Son of God most high? I beseech thee, torment me not. 29 (For he had commanded the unclean spirit to come out of the man. For oftentimes it had caught him: and he was kept bound with chains and in fetters; and he brake the bands, and was driven of the devil into the wilderness.) 30 And Jesus asked him, saying, What is thy name? And he said, Legion: because many devils were entered into him. 31 And they besought him that he would not command them to go out into the deep. 32 And there was there an herd of many swine feeding on the mountain: and they besought him that he would suffer them to enter into them. And he suffered them. 33 Then went the devils out of the man, and entered into the swine: and the herd ran violently down a steep place into the lake, and were choked. 34 When they that fed them saw what was done, they fled, and went and told it in the city and in the country. 35 Then they went out to see what was done; and came to Jesus, and found the man, out of whom the devils were departed, sitting at the feet of Jesus, clothed, and in his right mind: and they were afraid. 36 They also which saw it told them by what means he that was possessed of the devils was healed.

The man had demons for a long time. The man wore no cloths. Nakedness is demonology. After he was departed of demons, he was clothed. That's just like in Acts 19:16.

Acts19:15-16
15 And the evil spirit answered and said, Jesus I know, and Paul I know; but who are ye? 16 And the man in whom the evil spirit was leaped on them, and overcame them, and prevailed against them, so that they fled out of that house naked and wounded.

Nakedness induces sin as well. Imagine if we were all running around naked, people would be mindfully lusting to each other and mentally committing adultery. Which is an act of sin.

Back to Luke. When Jesus asked him his name, he said “legion”. Which means MANY. When someone was possessed at biblical times, they were casted outside of their towns. Only thing they could think or do is evil. The person would be unable to function in society.

Tombs were a symbolism of death. Demons seek death. If I demon is after you, they will be after your family, your friends, etc. Truth is, today the children are taking over their houses.

When he seen Jesus. He fell down before Him and cried out in a loud voice. Notice in scripture the demon always scream and when a demon leaves a person they scream/screech/yell loudly. They like to be loud.

Note that today in some churches or session of prayer, and else. People seem to think that they have to scream and shout to pray or praise. One person gets louder, then other does. As if it is a contest. It may be attention in a earthly sense, or pride, and/or just pure evil. Jesus said to lift “Holy Hands”. It cannot be commanded by man. So be careful in church or while singing with a singer. If they command you to raise your hands and shout, think about it before you do. It's okay for your praise to drive your emotions, but do not let your emotions and fleshly self drive your praise.

Demonic filled can be strong. The possessed was able to break the chains that bound him.

So overview, a demonic filled person would be:
-Nakedness.
-Love death.
-Loud, screaming, shouting, or screeching.
-Can be physically strong.

We can only overcome the demons by the name of Jesus Christ only. For it's by the blood of Jesus Christ only that we are saved.
